Nominations for CIVIS Media Prize 200821 programmes promise exciting competition21 radio and TV programmes have been nominated for the European CIVIS Media Prize 2008 in Ljubljana. The prizes will be awarded on May 9, 2008, at an official television gala at the Castle of Ljubljana. The prize-giving ceremony will be broadcast the same evening by the German TV channel, ARD/Das Erste, and on the following day by 3sat in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. 588 radio and TV programmes. In some cases of very high quality, will be competing for the European CIVIS Media Prize. The dominating themes will be the problems of refugees and political asylum as well the increasing concerns about Islam and Islamism. The focus will be on the second and third generation of immigrants. The question of educational opportunities for children and young people is thereby being raised increasingly frequently.
