Jury

The juries of the European CIVIS Media Prize decide on the submitted programme and the selection of the prize-winners. The Chairperson and the composition of the independent juries of the CIVIS Media Prize are selected by the Board of Trustees of the CIVIS Media Foundation.

The CIVIS Media Prize is awarded as a European radio and television prize for German-language programmes in the European Union and Switzerland. The European sponsorship prize "Young CIVIS Media Prize" will also be awarded".

With the European CIVIS Online Prize, the European CIVIS Media Prize is offering an additional award for journalistically-presented webpages on the theme of integration and cultural diversity.

Journalist, presenter and producer, practical training at the Badischen Neuesten Nachrichten. 1963 presenter at Radio Luxemburg. 1966 chief speaker at Radio Luxemburg. 1968 assistant director, 1970 deputy programme director. 1972 director of the German RTL radio programme. Television presenter of Fernsehlotterie, Spiel ohne Grenzen, Montagsmaler. 1981 conception and presentation of the ZDF show "Wetten, dass....?". 1982-1987 presenter of the ZDF Annual retrospective Menschen. Since 1987 also producer of the Nobel Prize winner series Die stillen Stars, Nase vorn, Aber Hallo - Die Frank Elstner Show and the quiz show Jeopardy. 2002 presentation of Verstehen Sie Spaß? in the ARD/Das Erste. Since 2003 presentation of the ARD show Einfach Millionär. Numerous awards: including 1976 and 1982 Golden Camera (HÖRZU), 1979 Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany, Chevalier de l'Ordre de la Mérite du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg, 1981 Bambi (Bild und Funk), 1983 Silver Camera (HÖRZU), 1979 Platinum ROMY (ORF Television Prize) 1999 Golden Millennium Camera (HÖRZU). Since 2003 member of the Board of Trustees of CIVIS Medienstiftung for Integration and Cultural Diversity in Europe.

born in 1954 in Zagreb/Croatia. Actor, interpreter, musician. Studied music majoring in classical piano, at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. Graduated as teacher of music. Then attended the acting academy in Zürich. Since 1977, among others worked at the theatres in Cologne and Essen, at the Opera House in Frankfurt am Main, at the Munich Volkstheater and at the Bavarian State Theatre in Munich. Numerous roles as TV actor, since 1990, among others, several times a year as Chief Inspector Ivo Batic in the ARD series "Tatort". 1994 foundation of the association "Hand in Hand e.V.", which supports war orphans from the former Yugoslavia. 1996 foundation of the Miro Nemec Band. 1997 Golden Lion as "best series actor" together with Udo Wachtveitl. 2001 Bavarian Television Prize with Udo Wachtveitl and director Vivian Naefe for the "Tatort" episode Kleine Diebe (Little Thieves). 2002 Adolf Grimme Prize for the "Tatort" episode Im freien Fall (In free fall) , together with Udo Wachtveitl, Alexander Adolph, Jobst Oetzmann and Silvia Koller. 2007 Brisant Brillant for social engagement.
