European Young CIVIS Media Prize 2010Conditions of participationThe European Young CIVIS Media Prize is awarded as a European television and video prize. Entries to the competition are restricted to reports, documentaries, reportages or dramas which have been publicly aired in the period from January 21, 2009 to January 20, 2010, or which have been officially accepted as part of the final works in the main course of the subject of studies concerned. All formats and genres are permitted. En tries are to be submitted in the publicly transmitted version or in the officially accept ed form. TV magazine contributions should be submitted without introduction, leader or jingle. The maximum age of entrants is 32 years.Entries can be submitted for the European Young CIVIS Media Prize by all television companies in the EU and Switzerland. They may also be submitted by all film and television colleges, journalist schools, academies and colleges of journalism, communication and media. Television entries require the signature of the editor and the official stamp of the responsible TV company‘s department. Video entries require the signature of the head of studies and the stamp of the school, college or academy. The prize is endowed with a fund of 5,000 euros. Registration: Please note that your registration for the competition must be made online. Each programme submitted must be described in terms of its content. Further information: civismedia.eu With the fully completed online registration form (pdf) you will receive a competition number (registration). For each video or TV contribution submitted for the competition, two DVD copies of the programme as well as a summary must be submitted with the online registration form (pdf). All copies must be checked and technically perfect. The title details on registration form and data carriers must be identical. The summary of content can be between at least 700 characters and no more than 2,000 characters. The summary must be submitted in German, English or French. For contributions from TV magazines, in addition details of the content of the complete programme as well as a time schedule are required. Television broadcasts or video productions consisting of two or more parts qualify as a serial. In the case of a serial or series being nominated, a maximum of up to three episodes only may be submitted. The television and video entries must be submitted in either German, English or French or with an adequate translation of the original into one of these languages. All co-production partners must be listed on the registration form. A co-production will be regarded as a contribution of the institution which submits the programme. The consent of all co-producers to the participation in the CIVIS competition is presupposed. The productions submitted for the competition may not include any advertising or advertising blocks. The organisers shall not reimburse any costs for the entries submitted nor any associated financial expenses incurred. Transport, customs and insurance costs will not be reimbursed by CIVIS. The submitted DVDs are not returnable and become the property of the CIVIS Medienstiftung (CIVIS Media Foundation). An independent, international jury of leading journalists and media experts will adjudicate on the television and video entries and select the prize-winners. The decision of the jury is final. Legal action is excluded. The CIVIS Medienstiftung has the right to publicly reproduce the TV and video entries submitted and, within the context of its reporting about the presentation of prizes to broadcast them or have them broadcast, free of charge, on radio and television and to make them available on the CIVIS webpages and the webpages of the cooperation partners of the CIVIS Medienstiftung (ARD, ZDF, ORF, SRG SSR idée Suisse, among others). Single images, photos and/or clippings from the submitted TV and video entries may be used by the CIVIS Medienstiftung and its cooperation partners in connection with the presentation of prizes and the reporting on this event. CIVIS can also grant these rights to third parties for the purposes of press and public relations activities. Registration for the Young CIVIS Media Prize 2010 constitutes acceptance of the above conditions of participation. Incomplete or incorrect information may result in disqualification from the competition. Legal action is excluded. |
