Dr. Alexander Wrabetz, born in 1960 in Vienna. Director-General of Österreichischer Rundfunk (ORF). Studied law in Vienna. 1983 doctorate. 1983 practice in court as legal trainee. 1982-1983 freelance work for ORF regional studio Vienna. 1984-1987 trainee programme in the head office and bank of the Austrian savings banks. Group head Trade Finance. 1987-1992 assistant to the Chairman of the Executive Board of Österreichische Industrieholding AG, 1989 granted general commercial power of representation. 1990 Secretary-General of Austrian Industries/ÖIAG. Member of the supervisory boards of several companies within the ÖIAG. 1992-1994 Managing Director of Voest Alpine Intertrading Ges.m.b.H. Linz. 1995-1998 Managing Director of Vamed Engineering GmbH & Co KG, Planungs- und Errichtungsges. m.b.H., Vienna and member of the Executive Board of VAMED AG, Vienna. Further offices in the Vamed Group. 1995-1998 member of the Board of Trustees of Österreichischer Rundfunk. 1998 to 2006 Commerical Director of Österreichischer Rundfunk. Chairman of the Supervisory Board of ORF-Enterprise GmbH & Co KG. Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Österreichische Rundfunksender GmbH & Co KG, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Gebühren Info Service GmbH and Managing Director of TW1 Betriebsführungs GmbH. Since 2007, Director-General of Österreichischer Rundfunk.
