Christian Petry

Christian Petry, born in 1941. Member of the Board of Trustees of the Freudenberg Foundation. Studied history and sociology in Tübingen, Berlin and Constance. 1970 teacher and social scientist at the Birklehof School and at Weinheim Comprehensive School. 1974-1987 development of the regional educational centre in Aurich/East Frisia. Development and management of regional offices for the promotion of foreign children and teenagers in North Rhine-Westphalia up to 1984. 1985-2009 Executive Director of Freudenberg Foundation in Weinheim. Since 2002 board of the Karl Konrad & Ria Groeben Foundation. Since 2004 member of the Executive Board of the European Rome Education Fund. Various publications on the history of student resistance during the Third Reich, on questions of educational reform and intercultural communication. 2003-2009 Deputy-Chairman of the Partners’ Meeting of the CIVIS Media Foundation. Since 2010 Member of the Board of Trustees of the Freudenberg Foundation.
