Ulrich Deppendorf, born in 1950 in Essen. Head of ARD capital studio and Editor-in-chief television of ARD capital studio in Berlin. Studied law in Münster. 1976 traineeship at the WDR. 1978 reporter and editor on WDR Television for Hier und Heute, Journal 3, ARD-Tagesschau and "ARD-Tagesthemen". 1980 joined WDR Television central editorial department as an editor for special tasks. 1981 ARD home correspondent for the "Tagesschau/Tagesthemen" in North Rhine-Westphalia. 1986 head of the WDR Television "ARD-aktuell" editorial and deputy head of the Current Affairs television editorial group. 1987 presenter of the election results in ARD. As of 1988 responsible for numerous special broadcasts and Brennpunkte on the political upheavals in Europe. 1989 head of Current Affairs television editorial group. 1991 second editor-in-chief of "ARD-aktuell" (Tagesschau/Tagesthemen). 1993 first Editor-in-Chief of "ARD-aktuell". 1999 Editor-in-Chief of the ARD Studio Berlin. Presenter of "Bericht aus Berlin (BaB)". 2002-2007 Director of Television programmes at WDR, since 2003, also ARD television film coordinator.
