Verena Kulenkampff, born in 1952 in Essen. Director of Television of Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR). 1971-1974 studied Architecture in Vienna. 1974-1975 traineeship, subsequently editor at the Düsseldorfer Nachrichten. 1980 studied History of Art and Film at the Columbia University New York. 1982-1986 Producer of the series "Bilder aus Amerika" for the New York Studio of ZDF. Parallel worked for the correspondent office of the German art magazine ART. 1986 return to Germany. Dramatic adviser and producer at the NDR subsidiary Studio Hamburg. 1989 Head of the Series editorial department at the NDR subsidiary NDR Media. 1994-2000 Head of the Television Film, Entertainment and Series department of the NDR. From 2000-2007 Deputy Director of Television. 2001-2007 ARD Coordinator for the early evening programme in Das Erste, as well as 2004-2007 also ARD Coordinator Entertainment. Since May 2007 Director of Television of WDR.
