German Savings Banks Association
With over 630 individual companies and around 352,000 employees, the German Savings Banks Association (Sparkasse Finanzgruppe) is the largest banking group in Europe. Its members include around 438 savings banks, 7 state banks, 10 state building societies, 12 public regional original insurer groups, the DekaBank, more than 670 foundations and numerous other companies. They work together with the objective of providing all people everywhere in Germany with modern finance services. In this connection, the savings banks are the No. 1 partner for foreign citizens. Around five million migrants are customers of the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe. They all trust in the services of their powerful financial partner. In accordance with their public mandate, savings banks are particularly tied to their regions. They accompany and support people in the cities and municipalities on practically all levels of social coexistence. Thanks to their varied involvements in all social areas the institutes of the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe contribute to a better coexistence of people from the various countries and cultures. For this reason, the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe supports the CIVIS Media Prize.
