Europäische Rundfunkunion (EBU)
The EBU is the largest organization of national broadcasting corporations worldwide. Since the merger with the OIRT in 1993 - the former organization of the Eastern European broadcasting companies - the EBU has 69 active members in 50 countries, as well as 49 affiliated members in a further 30 countries. The EBU negotiates on behalf of its members on the broadcasting rights to important sports events, organizes their exchange of programmes and makes services available which facilitate the border-crossing cooperation of its members.
