20,000 Roma live in the ghetto of Nadejda behind a big wall made of concrete, separated from the rest of the population of the small Bulgarian town of Sliven. A local NGO is campaigning against the racial segregation in the school and the everyday discrimination of the Roma. Also in the local elections – in which all candidates try to buy the votes of the Roma. The film shows the daily ignorance and the precarious situation in Sliven – but also the celebrations and rites of an old family culture.
