With 10 million people, the Roma are Europe’s largest minority. They are the losers of the EU expansion and the economic change in their countries. They lack vocational qualifications. Many live in poverty and about half of them are illiterate. Various initiatives offer the Roma opportunities to integrate into Europe’s societies – in sports clubs, in music groups and with education programmes. The documentary shows the situation of the Roma in Europe. Their rich culture is positively featured. Without political and financial support, however, the situation of the Roma can develop into a social disaster within a few years.
