Born and raised in Berlin, Liya Tekin today works as teacher and choreographer. Although a practising Muslim, she has no problems in eating pork, commenting that her entry into paradise probably won’t depend on that. This remarkable portrait depicts the delicate balancing act of a young woman straddling both her traditional culture and the western lifestyle.
